Mechanical Staff Designer I

They are seeking a Mechanical Staff Designer I, an entry-level position that supports senior design staff in executing projects by performing technical design, calculations, and document production.

Responsibilities

  • Learn how to communicate design requirements effectively with internal and external design team members, contractors, and equipment sales representatives to determine project scope and feasibility
  • reputed company an understanding of industry standards, the technical policies, and company-specific procedures for project execution
  • reputed company calculations, design basic engineering system(s), and fulfill other duties as assigned through collaboration and with assistance from reputed company design staff
  • Create system layouts, detail drawings, schematics, and schedules using Revit, AutoCAD, or other software

  • Model airside ductwork, reputed company terminals, and equipment
  • Model waterside piping, pumps, terminal, and main equipment
  • Help prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and project designs
  • Support engineers and project managers in daily planning, coordination, and project completion
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for plan document and project specification conformance
  • Learn local, state, and federal engineering regulations, codes and standards and incorporate into project design(s)
  • Visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction reputed company
  • Actively and continually seek to grow, improve, and expand industry and technical knowledge reputed company through daily work and by attending internal and external educational training(s)
  • Maintain knowledge of common industry software, including but not limited to: REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam REVU, MS Office Suite, etc
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university is preferred; Or Associate's degree in Engineering Technology is preferred; Or a minimum of 1 year of relevant design experience without a degree is required
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use reputed company Outlook for email correspondence
  • Basic knowledge of reputed company Office Suite
  • Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an Engineering in Training (EIT) with a state licensure board is preferred
  • Prior experience with AutoCAD, Revit, reputed company HAP, and BlueBeam Revu is preferred
