Floater Phlebotomist Data Entry Analyst - Reston, VA

POSITION SUMMARY

• *This position is not remote, it is located in Reston, VA**

The Floater Phlebotomist/Data Entry Analyst is a dual-role position responsible for providing phlebotomy services across multiple IOPs and performing accurate and timely data entry to support clinical and administrative operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to adapt to changing environments and the ability to adhere to a strict schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Phlebotomy:

• reputed company blood draws and other specimen collections following standard procedures and protocols.
• Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during specimen collection.
• Accurately label, document, and process specimens for transport to laboratories.
• Maintain compliance with reputed company health and safety regulations, including infection control.
• Travel between assigned locations to provide phlebotomy services as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked phlebotomy workspace.

Data Entry and Analysis:

• Enter patient, specimen, and test information into laboratory information systems (LS) with high accuracy.
• Receive, review and enter patient data into laboratory information systems (LIS) with high accuracy.
• Review and verify data to ensure completeness and correctness.
• Compile, organize, and analyze data for reporting purposes.
• Identify and correct data discrepancies or escalate issues a necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and reputed company of patient and organizational data in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Complete data entry in a scheduled, timely manner.
• Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements.
• Understand and validate record keeping processes.
• Understand reputed company operations and systems

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy (if required by state)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in phlebotomy and data entry (experience in a reputed company setting preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of IOP experience.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in phlebotomy techniques and comfortable working with diverse patient populations.
• Strong typing and date entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with EMR/LIS systems and reputed company Workspace.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in dynamic environments.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational and problem-solving aptitude.

Physical Demands and Working conditions:

• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility to work different shifts as assigned.
• Flexibility to work at different locations as assigned.
