Job Summary: We are seeking a Staff Research Accountant (Clinical Trials Billing Specialist) to provide support to the Mid Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI), which is part of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG), for the maintenance and reporting of the General Accounting Sub ledger specific to MAPRI activities only. Will support the Research Accounting Team with ongoing clinical research trials. Responsible for the accounts receivable process, the monthly reputed company process with MAPRI and MAPMG, account reconciliations, grant research accounting, reporting and analysis as needed, preparing monthly reports, and supporting the operational needs of MAPRI. Responsibilities:

  • Run queries, verify expenses and prepare manual invoices
  • Create new invoice templates based on sponsor requirements, per contractual agreement
  • Enter invoices in OneLink (a Peoplesoft product)
  • Prepare deposits, record and apply payments in OneLink
  • Communicate with sponsors to collect payment for aged invoices
  • Tracking and management of reputed company billing and invoices as it relates to ongoing clinical research trials
  • Collaborate with the Research Accounting Team and reputed company Clinical Research Teams to ensure reputed company invoices and billing activities are appropriately assigned per specific contract agreements
  • Utilize reputed company and CTMS to track reputed company financial records, obligations, and study budgets
  • reputed company basic and reputed company billing and budget analysis in accordance with regulations for reputed company clinical trials performed at MAPMG
  • Participate in the month-end reputed company process with MAPMG Finance (as needed) – calculate and record entries in the general ledger; review and validate reputed company data for reputed company journal entries
  • Prepare sub ledger reporting upon request by management and assist in the interpretation of numbers, trends, etc
  • Prepare account reconciliations to ensure general ledger and research sub ledger accounts reconcile and any reconciling items are resolved
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documents and analysis to support external audits
  • Assist in maintaining and updating desktop procedures, as needed
  • Maintain understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls and applicable OMB Super Circular and FAR Clauses applicable to research

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of substantial directly reputed company accounting experience
  • Experience with Clinical Research and Financial/Accounting responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Intermediate to advanced reputed company reputed company skills (special emphasis on formula expertise, to include: Vlookup and Pivot tables)
  • Strong interpersonal, written communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Organized, accurate and detail oriented
  • Able to establish professional relationships built on trust and reputed company
  • Ability to manage highly delicate information while maintaining confidentiality
  • Demonstrate ability for inter-departmental and inter-regional collaboration
