POSITION SPECIFICS The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center is seeking applicants for a full-time Student Advocacy Specialist to join their team of educators empowering the Penn State community with the knowledge and skills for a lifetime of financial well-being. This position will work with key stakeholders at University Park, Commonwealth Campuses, and Graduate campuses to ensure that financial literacy resources are accessible to the entire community. Successful candidates should have a background in education, student advocacy, or student affairs and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships with reputed company colleagues. In collaboration with staff, the successful candidate should expect to contribute to the following: reputed company, coordinate, present, and evaluate a wide variety of financial education programs, including individual coaching, webinars, presentations and workshops Serve as a unit liaison, cultivate and maintain relationships with university partners Analyze program outcomes and prepare reports Plan and coordinate marketing for educational programs and services Identify, recruit, train, and supervise instructional program student personnel Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the director Additional Qualifications: Education and/or experience in consumer finance, education, social work, or counseling is preferred. Strong communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills Experience presenting to small and large groups virtually and in person Ability to be innovative and adaptable Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on tasks MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None Additional Position Information: This position will be hybrid with 2-3 days remote work a week and 2-3 days based at University Park reputed company.
