The OSFM is recruiting for one (1) Fire Risk Reduction Specialist (Operations & Policy Analyst 3). This position will serve Region D which covers Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam, Morrow, and Umatilla counties. As the Fire Risk Reduction Specialist (FRRS) for Region D you will prepare communities for wildfire by identifying, defining, and prioritizing the risk to Oregon communities, and utilizing an integrated and strategic investment of resources to reduce the fire occurrence and impact. With a primary focus on the built environment, targeted efforts include improvement of structural resiliency to wildfire, enhancement of defensible space for homes and surrounding structures, ensuring adequate access and egress in the event of wildfire events, and overall improvement of structural fire prevention efforts through community risk reduction efforts. This is a full-time, permanent position and is represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union. This position will work remotely in its assigned region. This position is eligible for Police & Firefighter (P&F) Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
