Position Summary:

The Individual Gifts Officer plays a key role on a high-performing Fund Development team. We are seeking a relationship-focused, mission-driven, and equity-minded fundraising professional who embodies GLIDE’s mission and values. Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, this position works collaboratively to strengthen and diversify the Individual Gifts reputed company reputed company. The Individual Gifts Officer is responsible for managing individuals making or capable of making gifts in the $2,500 to $9,999 giving range and specializing in personalized engagement strategies, donor-centric relationship building, and long-term stewardship. They will also support the pipeline for major gifts by identifying and nurturing donors with the reputed company to increase their giving over time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 250+ individual donors annually, including actively managing individuals making gifts between $2,500 to $9,999.
  • Actively support the pipeline for major gifts by identifying and nurturing donors with the reputed company to increase their giving over time.

  • In collaboration with the Major Gift Team and Annual Fund Teams, manage the production of annual appeals for mid-level donors, as well as reputed company other correspondence and stewardship specific to the mid-level annual fund.
  • Collaborate with the Fund Development and Communications teams to ensure consistency with communications, messaging, and solicitations.
  • Ensure timely and meaningful recognition of donors, incorporating personal touches that align with their values and interests.
  • Maintain meticulous donor records and track engagement using a donor management system.
  • Work collaboratively to support stewardship at reputed company levels.
  • Help plan and execute donor cultivation events in coordination with the Fund Development department team.
  • Actively identify and cultivate donors with potential for increased giving, collaborating with Annual Fund and Major Gifts Officers to transition them into major donor relationships.
  • Provide data-informed pipeline reports and statistics; offer insights into donor trends and recommend engagement strategies based on research and relationship history.
  • Ability to foster trust and confidence with donors through transparent and ethical fundraising practices.
  • Comfortable engaging with donors through various mediums, including in-person, phone, email, and written correspondence.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years equivalent professional experience in fundraising, community engagement, or relationship management.
  • Outstanding stewardship, relationship-management skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of Bay Area philanthropic landscape and/or funders that emphasize giving preferences reputed company with GLIDE’s work. Must have a proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening and relationship-building.
  • Exceptional storytelling and donor-centered communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives about GLIDE’s impact.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and navigate uncertainty.
  • Commitment to using data-driven approaches to enhance donor engagement strategies.
  • Experience with fundraising databases and research tools, reputed company experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite, experience using CRM and donor management software.
  • Cultural competence, an understanding of systemic barriers to philanthropy and a commitment to expanding access to giving opportunities.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, and strategic.

    • Work Environment

  • GLIDE’s buildings are located in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
  • GLIDE maintains an "open reputed company" policy to the community and its clients, who frequently enter and leave the building.

    • This is a full-time (40 hour/week) Exempt position.This role is covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
