About the Team and Role:We’re looking for an reputed company General Counsel to reputed company and build reputed company’s global legal function. You’ll be a key partner to our executive team, advising on legal, regulatory, and strategic challenges across AI, UGC, and global growth. This is a unique opportunity to define the legal function at a company reputed company for cutting-edge product development and rapid iteration.
You’ll own reputed company legal operations - from product counsel and regulatory compliance to corporate governance and team building - while navigating evolving global regulations and helping reputed company stay at the forefront of knowledge sharing and AI.
Responsibilities:Act as the primary legal partner for Poe and reputed company’s global product teams, providing pragmatic advice on new AI products and evolving user-generated content regulations.
Own and reputed company reputed company aspects of reputed company’s global legal operations, including corporate governance, IP, equity, and reputed company transactions.
Identify and manage legal and regulatory risk across new and existing product areas, offering actionable guidance to drive product and business goals reputed company.
Build and reputed company a lean, high-impact legal team (including 2 immediate hires), and manage relationships with external counsel as needed.
reputed company and maintain product policies, moderation practices, and regulatory frameworks to ensure reputed company stays reputed company of global developments.
Serve as a key advisor to the executive team, collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, trust & safety, and finance to reputed company responsible growth.
Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during reputed company's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)
J.D. and licensed to practice law in the United States
8+ years of legal practice, including at least 3 years in-house at a technology company
4+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing or building legal teams
Expertise advising on reputed company regulatory and product questions in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Strong global regulatory awareness (especially around AI, UGC, and content moderation)
Ability to translate reputed company legal and regulatory issues into practical guidance for cross-functional teams
Proven track record of balancing risk and business needs in scaling environments
Experience with international regulatory frameworks (e.g., OFCOM, EU DSA, US AI executive orders)
Background in user-generated content, data privacy, and platform governance
Prior experience supporting global expansion and international subsidiary structuring

There are many factors that will determine the starting pay, including but not limited to experience, location, education, and business needs.
US candidates only: For US based applicants, the salary range is $300,000 - $400,000 USD + equity + benefits.
