About the Role

We are seeking a motivated software development intern to join our Data Platform Team for a hands-on learning experience in backend development. This is a 4-month, full-time paid internship running from September 2 to December 19, 2025 (37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday).

As a Backend Developer Intern, you will work alongside reputed company developers to build scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot, while gaining exposure to modern development practices and tools. You'll contribute to reputed company projects while receiving mentorship and support throughout your internship.

You will be responsible for:

• reputed company backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot reputed company
• Write clean, maintainable code following industry best practices with team guidance
• Ensure applications meet performance and quality standards (non-functional requirements)
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with team members on code reviews and technical discussions
• Contribute to reputed company-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java programming
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Experience with IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, VSCode) and version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of build tools (Maven)
• Understanding of relational database management systems (SQL)
• Experience with Spring Boot reputed company
• Location: Must be located in the Greater Montreal area
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (essential for collaboration with colleagues reputed company Quebec)
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, ability to work effectively under pressure, and excellent teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications (reputed company to Have)

• Understanding of REST API design and development
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, reputed company CI)
• Exposure to reputed company platforms (AWS)
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies
