Key Accountabilities: • With or without reasonable accommodations, the incumbent is accountable for completing all duties and responsibilities associated with this position. • For the health and happiness of living animals, it is essential to provide them the appropriate care based on established Petco standards, guidelines, and protocols that includes conducting hourly animal health checks and wellness documentation. • Displays exceptional communication abilities while interacting with professional associates through verbal and written communication, maintaining the company's interests above all. • Offers professional and efficient assistance to Petco customers, identifying their specific needs and recommending relevant products, while effectively employing suggestive selling methods to enhance individual sales. • The successful candidate for this role will have a thorough understanding of nutrition, be proficient in Pals Rewards subscription procedures, be well-informed about the Welcome to the Family initiative, and possess effective selling skills to attain higher sales. • Fulfills the assurance of providing guests with an exceptional experience through all Omni-channel programs, comprising likes of Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery. • Takes care of cash management processes such as completing transactions, processing returns and reconciling the cash drawer. • Aids in the upkeep of the merchandising presentation by restocking and facing products as needed. • Conducts transactions on the cash register and provides guest carry-out services, ensuring that merchandise does not exceed 50 pounds per trip. • Maintains vigilance in adhering to the loss prevention policies of the company. • Works towards ensuring accurate inventory counting and a well-maintained store by helping with the loading, unloading and stocking of merchandise in line with company policy. • Takes full responsibility for the animals, birds, reptiles, and fish in the store and ensures that their living conditions are safe, clean, and secured. Additionally, the best possible care is provided, ensuring that their health is maintained in the best possible state. • The moment any animal, reptile, bird or fish needs medical attention or special care, store leaders are notified immediately. • Ensures the store's pristine appearance by completing regular housekeeping tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, washing windows, organizing merchandise displays, keeping restrooms tidy, and more. • Collaborates with store managers to fulfill all paperwork requirements accurately and effectively during store opening and closing times. • Helps in facilitating the completion of quarterly and annual physical inventory checks with precision. • Takes proactive measures to maintain a hygienic and safe atmosphere at all times, placing a strong emphasis on the importance of complying with established safety protocols for the wellbeing of all store occupants. • Accomplishes specific tasks as instructed by authority.
