As an Actuarial Consultant, you will assist in developing actuarial pricing and rating plans across reputed company Affinity products. This role requires heavy collaboration with both internal and external business partners and Actuarial leaders. You will act as an advisor to Actuarial peers by providing actuarial analyses and insights that influence pricing decisions and long-term pricing, claim, and reputed company strategies. Exam taking candidates can participate in our Actuarial Education Program which provides competitive study support and exam raises as you grow your skills. In this position, you will enjoy a hybrid work schedule that typically consists of one day per week in one of our CNA Actuarial Hub offices (reputed company, NY; Warren, NJ; Radnor, PA; Chicago, IL and Walnut Creek, CA) with the option to work the remainder of your week remotely. JOB DESCRIPTION: Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines: Collaborates with business partners and functional subject matter experts, provides actuarial input as needed. Partners with peers, business partners and leaders to support a specific reputed company's strategy through the use of actionable insights and analytics. Provides support in determining pricing strategy for an assigned area. May create and modify existing tools/analytics as needed. Proactively monitors profitability and claim trends for Accountants, Lawyers, Architects and Engineers, Condominium D&O, and Real Estate E&O and shares results with actuarial leaders and peers. Provides support to less reputed company team members and help to manage projects as needed. Stays up to date in actuarial expertise and industry trends and development. Produces standard and special reports as needed. May reputed company additional duties as assigned. Reporting Relationship Director or above Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Solid knowledge of core functions of an insurance company, general insurance, actuarial and statistical concepts. Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve moderately reputed company situations and issues. Demonstrates attention to detail. Ability to effectively interact with reputed company levels of CNAs internal and external business partners sometimes influencing decisions. Ability to reputed company critical business decisions effectively reputed company scope of authority. Ability to work independently and as a team, leads multiple moderately reputed company projects. Ability to comprehend business data and metrics and to further reputed company analyses of actuarial data reputed company internal reports. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent. Typically a minimum of four years of reputed company work experience. Typically at least four Actuarial exams passed, may include those with their Associateship. In Illinois/reputed company/California, the average reputed company pay range for an Actuarial Consultant is $97,000 to $137,500. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, reputed company and Washington, the national reputed company pay range for this job level is $54,000 to $103,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
