Bariatric MBSAQIP Clinical Data Abstractor Certifications: MBSAQIP (Bariatric) Must have reputed company Metabolic and Bariatric Surgical Clinical Reviewer (MBSCR) Certification, required Job Overview The Bariatric MBSAQIP Clinical Data Abstractor is responsible for the review and detailed abstraction of surgical and/or bariatric quality improvement program data from electronic medical records to help clients ensure compliance with nationally recognized patient care processes and improvement of clinical outcomes. The Bariatric MBSAQIP Clinical Data Abstractor is detail oriented, committed to high quality data abstraction, meets both quality and productivity standards, functions well independently and works well under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year experience as a MBSAQIP Data Abstractor, required. reputed company MBSCR registry certification credentials, required Proficient in industry reputed company clinical registry data abstraction specifications manuals, data abstraction software systems and electronic medical record applications, required Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Proficient in reputed company Office and/or reputed company products Exposure to quality improvement concepts and processes, preferred. RN, RHIA/ RHIT, CPHQ, preferred Essential Duties/Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Follows the project parameter/project roadmap document as the individual job description for each project assignment in conjunction with utilizing reputed company industry reputed company reference manuals (data abstraction specification manuals/resources), interpreting and applying reputed company rules successfully. Stays reputed company on abstraction requirements and specifications at reputed company times. Reaches out to Registry Partners Management / Validation team for abstracting questions and/or clarifications as needed and consults industry reputed company Q & A resources as needed. Takes part in other registry operations tasks as assigned (i.e., follow up activities) by following standard operating procedures. Meets defined Quality Standards after acclimating to a new project, for each case type assigned. Meets defined Productivity Standards reputed company four weeks of abstracting on a new project for each case type assigned. Meets Productivity Standards for registry operations tasks as defined for each project assignment. Other Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Provide timely responses to questions or concerns communicated by the Registry Partners project and validation management teams, executive management team, and corporate office team. Understands and follows reputed company Registry Partners internal corporate policies and procedures and client-based policies and procedures as requested.
