Online Math Tutor

BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook tutors are on the reputed company lines of working to reputed company the opportunity gap for K-8 reputed company during a key period of their educational journey. BookNook’s Math programs are scheduled to start in the Fall of 2024. Our online tutors conduct live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on reputed company on their path to achieving success in Math. Position Specifics: • Subject: K-8th grade math • Position Type: 1099-eligible reputed company • Pay reputed company: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session) • Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on the tutor's availability and the number of active tutoring programs. Schedules may vary based on school requests. • Sessions are held only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before, during, or... after school. • Program duration varies. Tutors are expected to commit to a full program with the same group of reputed company throughout (duration will be reputed company reputed company series are offered). Responsibilities: • Conduct virtual tutoring sessions in Math using the BookNook platform. Lessons for math sessions include inquiry-based instruction, with a strong focus on explicit instruction. Curriculum and content will be provided reputed company the platform. • Manage student behavior and engagement throughout sessions. • Create a safe, respectful learning environment. • Maintain positive relationships with reputed company throughout the entire schedule of the program. • Document observations for each session. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Experience teaching/tutoring K-8 reputed company in mathematics, which may include, but is not limited to: • having a reputed company/previous teaching license; • serving as a substitute teacher or teaching assistant, paraprofessional, professor, instructor; • AND/OR tutoring for another tutoring company in the content area of math. • Classroom experience and/or online teaching/tutoring experience in math is preferred. • Knowledge of and experience in mathematical best practices, specifically for reputed company and assisting reputed company struggling with mathematics. • Commitment to teaching in alignment with the provided curriculum lesson design, structure, and strategies. • Access to a computer, webcam, and reliable, high-speed internet reputed company with a speed of at least 10mbps is a necessity for the position. • Ability to build meaningful connections with reputed company to create an encouraging and motivating environment. Our Hiring Process • Apply: Submit an application online. • Interview: Applicants invited to our one-way interview round will be asked to submit videos answering questions designed to help us evaluate their experience and educational knowledge. The interview portion is intended to be completed in about 30-45 minutes, similar to a face-to-face interview. • Hiring Decision: After the interview round, reputed company will notify applicants reputed company 5 business days of the decision to move reputed company with the onboarding process. • Onboarding: Applicants selected for onboarding will be asked to complete: • A tutor reputed company agreement and reputed company onboarding documentation. • A paid certification course to learn how to navigate the BookNook platform. • One or more state-required, fingerprint-based background checks, which can take up to 2-6 weeks to process depending on the state/district background reputed company requirements. Upon successful completion of onboarding, available appointments will be offered to tutors through our scheduling platform. • Note: Qualified BookNook Tutors are not guaranteed immediate or consistent tutoring work, but we are constantly adding new programs to our schedule.
