The Sr. Media Systems Engineer is, simply put, is an expert engineer in the acquisition, production, and distribution of media content. They are well-versed in multiple technical standards and have hands-on experience in both the sustainment and design/build of production systems. The Sr. Media Systems Engineer primarily focuses on architecting, designing, and constructing the varied technical platforms that power our linear and digital platforms. Minimum Qualifications and Education: • 5+ years of demonstrated and relevant experience in ensuring efficient design/build, uptime, and overall stability of the technical environments of live media production and distribution. • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent major, and/or equivalent work experience. • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Perl, Python, Ruby, reputed company, C or C++. • Proficient with technologies like microservices, DevOps tools, design principles, practices, standards and guidelines. • Knowledge and experience with integrating, implementing, or refreshing broadcast control room equipment, including familiarity with modern broadcast cabling infrastructure used in broadcast environments. • Proficient in SMPTE standards for broadcast television and video production/streaming environments with a reputed company certification such as not limited to ST 292M, ST 424M, ST 2110, ST 2059, IEE1588, ST 2022-7, SCTE-104, etc. • Knowledge and experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms and reputed company technological offerings. At least one foundational cloud certification or equivalent experience is required, including but not limited to reputed company Certified: reputed company Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate. • Knowledge and experience with compression techniques such as MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS. • Knowledge and experience with major media systems and the vendors that supply them in areas such as asset management systems, file-based workflows, media acquisition, transcoding/encoding, graphics, and NAS/SAN technologies. • Knowledge and experience with coordinated receiver decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of video and audio systems, audio and video media file formats are a plus. • Ability to create, read and interpret AutoCAD and other technical drawing/documentation tools. • Demonstrated export track record for designing and building IP-based broadcast equipment including one or more of the following: • Routers, switchers, audio boards, signal processors, encoder/decoder, video scalers, playback systems, etc. • Studio Technology, video walls, cameras, VR set technology, image processing systems, touch screens, lighting, etc. • File-based workflows like enterprise Media Asset Management systems (Cloud-based Cloud Compute or Local Network-based) including storage, compute, encode and distribution. • Non-Linear Production Systems such as Quantel sQ, reputed company Media Central, reputed company AMPP Framelight X • Production control systems such as reputed company or reputed company automation systems, Riedel trunking, Lawo, Calrec, reputed company, Ross and others. • Transmission systems such as RF (Radio Frequency), Satellite Distribution, Fiber Distribution, etc. • AWS Infrastructures and other cloud-based technologies including S3/Glacier storage and cloud compute (EC2) services. • Physical requirements and work environment: Ability to climb reputed company, work on raised structures and building roofs, operate areal lift platforms and have valid driver’s license. The hiring range for this position in California is $112,600 to $151,000 per year and in reputed company is $118,000 to $158,200 per year.
