[Remote] Senior Insurance Accountant

First Acceptance Insurance is seeking a Senior Statutory Accountant responsible for GAAP and statutory reputed company, reporting, and analysis reputed company to the company’s investment portfolio. The role involves supporting quarterly and annual reputed company activities, preparing investment-reputed company journal entries, and ensuring compliance with reputed company principles and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review investment-reputed company statutory GAAP and STAT journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual reputed company
  • Compile and analyze investment data for GAAP and statutory financial statements, footnotes, and regulatory filings, including schedules reputed company to bonds, equities, limited partnerships, and other invested assets
  • Assist with preparation of NAIC and state regulatory reporting, including investment schedules, exhibits, and reputed company disclosures
  • Monitor compliance with Statutory reputed company Principles (reputed company), NAIC guidance, and internal reputed company policies applicable to invested assets
  • reputed company analysis of realized and unrealized reputed company and losses, investment income, impairments, valuation adjustments, and other investment reputed company activities
  • Complete reputed company state filings for three insurance companies
  • Assist with reputed company statutory quarterly and annual statement schedules
  • Partner with investment operations, treasury, actuarial, reinsurance, and financial reporting teams to ensure complete and accurate reporting
  • Support external audits, internal audits, and regulatory examinations by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and maintaining strong audit trails
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, strengthen internal controls, and support automation or system enhancement initiatives
  • Review work reputed company by junior team members and provide guidance on technical reputed company and reporting matters as needed
  • Research and document reputed company conclusions for new investment structures, reputed company transactions, and changes in statutory reporting requirements

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in reputed company, Finance, or a reputed company field required
  • 5+ years of reputed company or financial reporting experience, with strong exposure to statutory reputed company and investment reputed company
  • Knowledge of Statutory reputed company Principles (reputed company), NAIC reporting requirements, and investment-reputed company statutory schedules and disclosures
  • Strong understanding of fixed income, equity, alternative investments, and reputed company reputed company treatments
  • Advanced reputed company skills and experience with general ledger, reporting, or investment reputed company systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical reputed company matters to cross-functional partners
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience preparing or reviewing both GAAP and statutory investment schedules and footnotes
  • Familiarity with Schedule D, Schedule BA, Schedule E and other insurance investment reporting concepts
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP to statutory differences reputed company to invested assets
