  • Prescription Order Management: Process new patient medication orders and reorders, including verifying, re-verifying, and translating prescription information into the pharmacy information system with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Benefits Verification: Conduct thorough insurance benefits verification and re-verification, ensuring coverage accuracy and identifying potential issues before they impact patient care.
  • Copay Collection and Financial Coordination: Clearly communicate copay amounts to patients, collect payments, and process financial transactions in compliance with established procedures.
  • Insurance Authorizations: Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies and work closely with healthcare providers to secure approvals for specialty medications.
  • Issue Resolution: Screen, identify, resolve, and appropriately defer orders that have accounts receivable or clinical concerns, collaborating with internal teams and external partners as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure seamless processing of specialty medications and adherence to financial and clinical expectations.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate, detailed records of all patient interactions, order status, and resolution activities in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current on industry trends, insurance policies, and pharmacy procedures to deliver the most informed and effective service possible.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: At least one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, and email applications.
  • Keyboard Skills: Minimum of one year of computer keyboarding experience with demonstrated skills and aptitude for accurate data entry.
  • Residency Requirement: Must reside in New Jersey and within 75 miles of the Fairfield Specialty location (180 Passaic Ave, Fairfield, NJ 07004).
  • Education: Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with health benefits, insurance processes, prescription medications, and medical terminology.
  • Experience working in a remote or work-from-home environment.
  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
