Work from home Full-time role Hiring

About arenaflex

arenaflex is a leading retailer and lifestyle brand that has transformed the way millions of customers experience home décor, crafts, and everyday essentials. With a strong commitment to quality, community, and innovation, arenaflex operates a vast network of stores and a sophisticated e‑commerce platform that serves shoppers across the United States and beyond. Our technology backbone powers everything from inventory management to online ordering, and it is built on a foundation of resilient, secure, and highly available data storage solutions. As we continue to expand our digital footprint, we are looking for a seasoned Enterprise Data Storage Administrator to join our remote team and help safeguard the data that drives our business.

Why This Role Matters

Data is the lifeblood of arenaflex. From product catalogs and customer transactions to supply‑chain analytics and internal collaboration tools, every piece of information must be stored reliably, accessed quickly, and protected against loss or breach. As an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator, you will be the guardian of our storage infrastructure, ensuring that our NAS, SAN, and DAS environments operate at peak performance while adhering to the highest security standards. Your expertise will directly influence the efficiency of our operations, the satisfaction of our customers, and the strategic growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑grade storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and DAS platforms, to support critical business applications.
  • Develop and enforce storage security policies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—application, database, server, and network engineers—to design storage architectures that meet performance, capacity, and availability requirements.
  • Monitor storage health, capacity trends, and performance metrics; proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks before they impact business operations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of storage migrations, upgrades, and disaster‑recovery testing, providing detailed documentation and post‑implementation reviews.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for daily operations, standard operating procedures, and project‑specific configurations.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex storage challenges, including multi‑site replication, tiered storage strategies, and integration with virtualization platforms such as VMware.
  • Apply patches, firmware updates, and security fixes to storage arrays and related infrastructure to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response, delivering timely resolutions and clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging storage technologies, industry best practices, and vendor roadmaps to recommend strategic enhancements.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise storage environments, with a focus on systems administration and storage protocols.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting large‑scale SAN solutions, preferably with DellEMC, Cisco, or comparable OEM platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of NAS technologies and protocols, including CIFS/SMB, NFS, and object‑storage interfaces such as S3.
  • Proficiency in storage security concepts, encryption, access controls, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI‑DSS, GDPR).
  • Solid understanding of operating system storage management for both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with virtualization storage integration, particularly VMware vSphere storage policies and VMFS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, remote environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Professional certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or VMware VCP.
  • Experience with cloud storage services (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage) and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Familiarity with storage automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell DSC, Terraform) to streamline provisioning and configuration.
  • Background in capacity planning, performance tuning, and data deduplication technologies.
  • Track record of leading or contributing to large‑scale storage migration projects, including data center consolidations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of storage architectures, protocols, and security mechanisms.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse technical teams and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated capacity to lead initiatives, mentor junior staff, and influence decision‑making across the organization.
  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating a dynamic environment where priorities shift and new technologies emerge.
  • Documentation: Commitment to producing thorough, accurate, and accessible documentation for all processes.
  • Customer Focus: Understanding of how storage performance impacts end‑user experience and business outcomes.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. As a member of our technology team, you will have access to:

  • Continuous learning programs, including tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees or certifications.
  • Mentorship from senior architects and industry experts who will help you deepen your expertise in storage, cloud, and security.
  • Opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects that shape the future of arenaflex’s data strategy.
  • Cross‑functional exposure to e‑commerce, supply‑chain, and retail operations, broadening your business acumen.
  • Participation in internal tech conferences, hackathons, and knowledge‑sharing forums.

Work Environment & Culture at arenaflex

Our remote workforce is built on trust, flexibility, and a shared commitment to excellence. At arenaflex you will experience:

  • A collaborative, inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and encourages open dialogue.
  • Flexible work hours that respect work‑life balance while meeting business needs.
  • State‑of‑the‑art collaboration tools, secure VPN access, and a home‑office stipend to create an optimal remote workspace.
  • Regular virtual team‑building events, wellness challenges, and community outreach initiatives.
  • A results‑oriented environment where performance is measured by impact, not by time spent at a desk.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive compensation package that reflects the expertise you bring to the role. While the base rate for this position is $24 per hour, total rewards include:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans with low employee contributions.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match to help you build long‑term financial security.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays to recharge and spend time with loved ones.
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) for healthcare and dependent care.
  • Life insurance and long‑term disability coverage for added peace of mind.
  • Employee discount program for arenaflex products, allowing you to enjoy the brand you help support.
  • Wellness resources, including virtual fitness classes, mental‑health counseling, and an employee assistance program.
  • Opportunities for performance‑based bonuses and salary growth as you advance in your career.
