Business Development Representative Virtual Peaker is looking for a Business Development Representative that will help solve the climate crisis by supporting our mission of building the utility of the future.

Job Description

As the Business Development Representative you will be responsible for engaging with prospects to qualify potential customers for our Account Executive team. This position is ideal for someone looking to enter a business development or sales role at a rapidly growing B2B startup doing big things. Role Responsibilities Develop a working knowledge of the utility industry, including DERs, DERMS, demand response, and decarbonization Research and prospect companies that meet Virtual Peaker’s ideal customer profile Plan, execute, and iterate on multi-channel outbound campaigns Engage and qualify inbound leads and outbound prospects Effectively partner and work across the Sales and Marketing teams Support Marketing events through outreach and attendance Maintain complete and accurate records in the CRM and adjacent tools Education & Experience An ideal candidate will have some combination of the following: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution 2+ years of sales/business development experience preferred Key Knowledge & Skills: Business to business communication and prospecting Active listening skills Research experience Attention to detail, strong organizational, and prioritization skills Coachability, accountability, and helpfulness Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite Experience using and maintaining a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system Basic understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS) Core Competencies: Desire to build a long-term career in technology sales Curiosity, creativity, and a thirst for knowledge Consultative approach to relationship building What to expect Full remote position, with remote-work stipend.
