Senior Paralegal - Personal Injury Litigation

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Elevate Your Legal Career with Veta Virtual! πŸš€ Are you an experienced litigation professional who thrives in personal injury litigation and enjoys managing cases end-to-end with full autonomy? Veta Virtual is hiring a Senior Paralegal – Personal Injury Litigation for a U.S. personal injury litigation and civil law firm. This role is ideal for someone who brings real hands-on litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently β€” without waiting for direction, without requiring hand-holding, and without needing a formal onboarding runway to hit the ground running. πŸ”‘ Your Role: As a Senior Paralegal – Personal Injury Litigation, you will support attorneys by managing a personal injury and civil litigation caseload from pre-filing through litigation milestones. You will own key tasks that keep cases moving efficiently and confidently, ensuring court deadlines are met, documents are filed correctly, and clients remain well-informed throughout the legal process. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment inside a growth-phase firm. You will be expected to onboard onto active cases quickly, build and document your own processes where none exist, and produce consistent, high-quality output under pressure β€” from day one. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong independent judgment, and a proactive, low-maintenance communication style. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include: Managing personal injury and civil litigation caseloads independently β€” including approximately 20 active litigation and/or pre-litigation matters simultaneously. Preparing, formatting, and filing key court documents including complaints, motions, and case management statements β€” with zero tolerance for recurring errors regardless of workload pressure. Maintaining and updating case calendars with deadlines, hearings, and filings β€” anticipating what needs to happen next without being asked. Drafting and coordinating discovery requests, responses, and related correspondence with precision and efficiency. Working with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to gather necessary case information and respond appropriately β€” asking targeted, efficient questions rather than requiring extended explanatory sessions. Organizing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents using MS Word to ensure full compliance with court rules and internal quality standards. Preparing exhibits, binders, and document sets for hearings, depositions, and trial preparation. Using Clio Manage for case tracking, document storage, and client communications β€” keeping everything current and accessible at all times. Collaborating with attorneys to support trial preparation as needed β€” self-sufficiently, even when lateral support is unavailable or unreliable. Communicating with clients to gather facts, provide case updates, and ensure timely input on litigation strategy β€” always with professionalism and discretion. Building and documenting workflows and processes where they do not yet exist β€” contributing to the operational structure of a growing firm rather than simply inheriting established systems. This is a hybrid role β€” you will serve as both a Litigation Paralegal and a Case Manager in personal injury matters. βœ… What You'll Need: 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, case manager, or senior paralegal in personal injury and/or civil litigation law β€” with a proven track record of managing caseloads independently and under pressure. California personal injury litigation experience is strongly desired β€” familiarity with California court rules, filing requirements, and PI workflows is a significant advantage. Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision β€” you anticipate what needs to be done, take initiative without waiting for instructions, and communicate proactively rather than reactively. Proven comfort working in unstructured, fast-growing, or startup-phase law firm environments β€” you build processes, you don't just follow them. Ability to onboard onto active cases quickly and without a formal handoff period β€” producing quality output from day one in a high-volume environment. Zero-tolerance approach to recurring document errors β€” your attention to detail is consistent and reliable under pressure, not only when the workload is light. Concise, efficient, and targeted communication style β€” you ask the right questions when needed but do not require extended explanatory sessions for standard litigation tasks. Ability to work self-sufficiently when lateral support is unavailable β€” you never depend on a colleague or internal resource to function effectively. Comfortable working alongside a direct, results-focused, high-output attorney who communicates by exception rather than by routine check-in. Expertise in calendaring deadlines, drafting litigation documents, and preparing case management statements. Strong MS Word skills β€” capable of formatting legal documents to professional and court-compliant standards. Experience with Clio Manage or equivalent case management tools, plus calendaring and e-filing familiarity. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills β€” able to handle sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion at all times. This role is open only to candidates based in LATAM or Europe. πŸ’Ό What We Offer: πŸ’Έ Competitive compensation in USD per month, based on experience. 🌴 15 days of PTO plus U.S. national holidays off. πŸ’» Fully remote role β€” work from anywhere with a professional home setup. πŸ“ˆ Opportunities to grow within the legal support field through ongoing collaboration with experienced attorneys. 🀝 A supportive, transparent, and organized work environment through Veta Virtual and our client. πŸš€ Ready to Apply? If you are a seasoned litigation professional who enjoys owning case work, thrives without hand-holding, and consistently delivers quality output in a fast-paced legal environment β€” apply today. It only takes a few minutes. We can't wait to meet you! Apply To This Job
