Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic, fully remote engineering team. In this role, you will design and implement cutting-edge data capabilities in close collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and enterprise partners using Agile/Scrum methodology. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data architecture, building scalable processing pipelines, and ensuring engineering excellence across all stages of the data lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Contribute to the overall architecture, frameworks, and design patterns used for processing and storing massive data volumes efficiently.
- Architect and build distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages common to Hadoop and Cloud ecosystems.
- Build custom utilities, user-defined functions (UDFs), and reusable frameworks to enhance and streamline data flow patterns.
- Construct and expand process orchestration and scheduling mechanisms to ensure reliable and timely data movement.
- Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks focused on high-volume and real-time data processing.
- Define and apply appropriate data acquisition and consumption strategies for diverse technical scenarios.
- Build and integrate automated unit tests, and actively participate in integration testing efforts to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering leads, and other teams to ensure high-quality solutions are implemented and engineering best practices are defined, documented, and adhered to.
- Work across teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve operational and performance issues in production data environments.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A Master's Degree (Postgraduate) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electronics and Communications, or a related Technology field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the position offered or a closely related data engineering occupation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala.
- Hands-on experience with Big Data frameworks including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Databricks.
- Solid knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica and PL/SQL.
- Expertise in scripting with Unix and PowerShell.
- Strong working knowledge of databases including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Teradata, and Snowflake.
- Experience with AWS tools and services such as EMR, S3, and Kinesis.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Tableau and Cognos.
- Experience with streaming frameworks including Kafka and Spark Streaming.
- Proficiency in workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and Autosys.
