Job Overview

arenaflex is a leading name in the retail pharmacy and health‑services industry, dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and compassionate care to millions of customers across the United States. As part of our ongoing commitment to expand digital access and improve patient outcomes, we are seeking motivated, detail‑oriented individuals to join our remote workforce as Part‑Time Data Entry & Patient Services Specialists. This role is perfect for candidates who thrive in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment and who want to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients while enjoying the flexibility of a home‑based schedule.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Entry & Patient Services Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the frontline guardian of medication data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely communication. Your daily duties will include:

  • Utilizing arenaflex’s proprietary pharmacy information systems to enter new patient enrollments, prescription refills, and medication updates in strict accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Reviewing and interpreting prescription abbreviations (SIG codes) and resolving any discrepancies by contacting prescribers, patients, or internal pharmacy teams.
  • Processing high‑volume inbound calls, chat messages, and emails from patients, providing clear guidance on medication status, refill eligibility, and pharmacy policies.
  • Conducting outbound outreach to verify prescription details, obtain missing information, and secure necessary authorizations for medication dispensing.
  • Escalating complex or “exception” cases to senior staff, documenting all actions taken, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Collaborating with on‑site and remote pharmacy technicians to support daily operations, share insights, and maintain a seamless workflow.
  • Maintaining a dynamic knowledge base of pharmacy regulations, drug formularies, and arenaflex’s internal processes, updating it as policies evolve.
  • Achieving certification or credentialing within the first 90 days and maintaining an active status throughout employment.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following baseline requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of pharmacy‑related experience in a retail or call‑center environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient computer literacy—including ability to start/shut down a PC, navigate multiple applications, save and print documents, and perform basic web browsing.
  • Typing Speed: At least 25 words per minute (WPM) with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey information clearly to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Compliance: Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

While not mandatory, the following attributes will set you apart from other applicants:

  • Advanced typing speed of 35+ WPM with demonstrated proficiency in data entry without looking at the keyboard.
  • Prior experience handling high‑volume inbound/outbound patient communications in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., RxConnect, PioneerRx, or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret medical abbreviations, dosage instructions, and insurance authorization requirements.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset—able to investigate missing data, resolve “exception” cases, and document resolutions efficiently.
  • Self‑motivation and discipline to thrive in a remote work setting, with a dedicated home office space that meets ergonomic standards.

Core Competencies

Success in this position hinges on a blend of technical, interpersonal, and organizational competencies:

  • Professional Development: Access to arenaflex’s learning portal, certification courses, and mentorship programs.
  • Health & Wellness: Eligibility for medical, dental, and vision plans after a qualifying period, as well as employee assistance programs.
