Role Overview – Associate Network Security Engineer (Remote)

arenaflex is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Associate Network Security Engineer to join our IT Data Security team. This remote, full‑time position plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting the foundational infrastructure that powers arenaflex’s customer‑facing applications, partner integrations, and internal systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure 99.999% availability, maintain rigorous security standards, and drive continuous improvement across our network and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Design & Support: Build, configure, and maintain on‑premises and cloud‑based network infrastructure that underpins arenaflex’s critical applications and services.
• Firewall & VPN Management: Administer firewall appliances, VPN solutions, and related security controls, ensuring proper segmentation, access policies, and compliance with industry standards.
• Remote Access Services: Support corporate remote‑access clients, integrating advanced technologies such as Application ID and Client ID for granular user authentication.
• Airport Network Operations: Provide tier‑1 support for airport network equipment, including NetMotion, routers, switches, and related software, handling site deployments, inventory tracking, and break/fix activities.
• Collaboration with Business Units: Partner with arenaflex business divisions through conference calls and meetings to define firewall strategies, access control policies, and service‑level agreements (SLAs).
• On‑Call Rotation: Participate in an on‑call rotation to guarantee continuous availability of mission‑critical applications and services, meeting a 99.999% SLA target.
• Policy Development & Enforcement: Contribute to the creation, documentation, and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures that align with corporate governance.
• Project Execution: Assist in planning and executing data‑center and remote‑office infrastructure upgrades, redesigns, and enhancements, ensuring cost‑effective procurement and vendor compliance.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate technical documentation, produce regular status reports, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for network health and security posture.
• Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay current with emerging security trends, tools, and best practices, proactively recommending improvements to strengthen arenaflex’s security ecosystem.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, routing, and switching.
• Hands‑on experience with network security tools and platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or similar).
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and familiarity with cloud‑based security controls.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex network and security incidents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
