Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our remote finance team. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Financial Accountant at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, with responsibilities including:

• Providing expert guidance to senior management on complex financial accounting matters and financial reporting best practices
• Performing sophisticated financial accounting tasks, including maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing comprehensive financial statements, and developing executive-level financial reports
• Collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing financial data to create meaningful financial and operational reports
• Reviewing data from general ledgers, departmental reports, and various financial systems to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Preparing and conducting thorough reconciliations of accounts and performing verification procedures
• Analyzing projects related to financial accounting policies, procedures, or system implementations
• Executing continuous financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies and procedures
• Delivering practical guidance and training to team members and other stakeholders on financial accounting practices
• Supporting compliance and risk management requirements through rigorous financial oversight
• Collaborating effectively with stakeholders across various departments and projects to ensure financial consistency and alignment

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role at arenaflex, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Analysis, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting, or Risk Reporting
• Demonstrated experience through a combination of professional work, training, military experience, or education
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate financial concepts clearly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, candidates with the following qualifications will be given strong consideration:

• 2+ years of SEC/Regulatory quarterly reporting experience
• Experience with Fiserv systems and data interpretation
• Familiarity with COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation
• Military background or analytical experience including operational management, project management, mission planning, and financial management
• 1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience
• Knowledge of corporate/business loan products
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• Experience with Big 4 or regional public accounting/financial services
• Proficiency in intermediate Essbase/SmartView and advanced Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP/pivot tables
• Strong experience and knowledge of general ledger reconciliations and automation tools
• Independent judgment and creative problem-solving skills to analyze/identify/understand downstream impacts in complex matrixed environments
• Knowledge/understanding of US GAAP financial statement preparation with the ability to translate/summarize complex data into understandable, meaningful information and recommendations
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting/reporting/internal control issues
• Ability to interpret and summarize complex data into clear, relevant information and recommendations
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
