Part- Time Remote Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Desktop)

As we continue to grow our client base, we're looking for an experienced bookkeeper who can hit the ground running and work independently in a remote setting.
About the Role
You'll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple client accounts across a variety of industries. This is a long-term, ongoing part-time position — not seasonal — with consistent hours throughout the year. You'll work closely with our tax preparers to ensure client books are clean, current, and ready for tax time.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books for multiple small business clients using QuickBooks Desktop
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable entry
- Record journal entries and ensure proper categorization of transactions
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Clean up and catch up client books as needed
- Coordinate with our tax team to ensure books are tax-ready
- Communicate with clients professionally regarding missing information or discrepancies
Requirements
- Hands-on QuickBooks Desktop experience is required (QB Pro, Premier, or Enterprise)
- Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a multi-client or firm environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP basics, chart of accounts, and bank reconciliation
- Comfortable managing books for multiple clients simultaneously
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines without micromanagement
- Proficient with email and cloud-based file sharing (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
- U.S.-based with a reliable internet connection
Nice to Have
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Experience working within a tax or accounting firm
- Familiarity with tax prep workflows and year-end close procedures
- Experience with payroll processing or sales tax filing
