Part-time Administration of Justice Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Part-time Administration of Justice Instructor Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour We are currently recruiting part-time adjunct instructor to teach remote classes in our Administration of Justice (AOJ) Bachelor degree program. This is an outstanding opportunity for a service-oriented individual to help educate our students as they begin their journey toward their new careers. IMMEDIATE NEED: Evening availability Job Description:

• The faculty's primary function is to instruct classes according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods in such a way as to contribute to the achievement of the institutional goals.
• Additional duties include advising and tutoring students through regular office hours and ad hoc sessions.
• Maintain current and accurate attendance and grade records
• Develop stimulating daily lesson plans.
• Faculty are also expected to remain current in their teaching field and to participate in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions.
• Contact and advise students on a weekly basis who are succeeding or struggling in the course.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience in law enforcement, corrections, or related field
• Hold a Peace Officer certificate, proof of eligibility, or similar license in their field
• Instructors will need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to instruct classes and engage students in the classroom.
• Must also be knowledgeable in the subject matter in which they are providing instruction
• Must have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Must be sensitive to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds of students.
• Although not necessary, the successful candidate would benefit from a previous experience teaching.
