Adjunct Sociology Instructor Synchronous

Description: The Adjunct Instructor – Sociology is responsible for delivering high-quality synchronous online instruction to college-level students. This includes helping students understand social structures, institutions, and patterns of human behavior within diverse societies. Check Us Out! Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deliver live, scheduled online class sessions and actively teach during all assigned meeting times
  • Facilitate critical thinking and application of sociological perspectives, including analysis of social institutions, inequality, culture, and social change
  • Develop and deliver lectures, discussions, and other learning activities on sociological concepts, theories, and research methods
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, real-world applications, and technology-based instruction to support student learning

  • Master’s degree in sociology or a closely related field required; individuals with credentials in another subject area may be considered with evidence of at least 15 semester credits in sociology coursework and relevant related experience to support subject area expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for diverse learners.
  • Experience with online learning management systems/platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and instructional technology is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
