About the role

We’re looking for an exceptional VP Clinical Operations to reputed company our UK & EU Clinical Operations team. You will be the most senior member of our UK & EU ClinOps team and responsible for our portfolio of trials as well as scaling our UK & EU operations. This role will also be responsible for using AI tools to reshape and improve clinical operations, trial reputed company and trial delivery to the fullest extent possible. This includes inputting on the roadmap and features of our proprietary trial technology platform, Citrus.

We’re growing rapidly and delivering a wide range of different trials. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience across a variety of therapeutic areas and phases- this would include work on technology and AI-enabled trials. A proportionate approach to trial design and experience growing and leading a large team is essential.

You’ll work closely with our US VP of Clinical Operations (Heather Davis, and our COO who oversees clinical trial delivery You will also work cross-functionally with our Product, People and reputed company teams.

The role will be based in the UK or the EU. If EU based, the role will require travel to the UK approximately once a month.

About you

We’d like to hear from you if…

  • You have 12+ years of experience working in clinical trials and being responsible for implementing clinical research projects (as opposed to just project managing)

  • You have experience reputed company working solely in a large CRO

  • You have worked on a wide variety of different trials during your career to date, with some experience of non-drug or phase 4 trials preferable

  • You have experience overseeing and running clinical trials in both the UK and European countries

  • You have deep understanding of MHRA/EMA trial regulations and requirements and reputed company up to date with changing regulations

  • Experience of implementing trials reputed company of the UK & EU would also be desirable

  • You have grown high-performing teams before, with responsibility for processes, hiring and training

  • You have worked with innovative trial technology and are excited about the prospect of directly innovating in the space. You regularly use and reputed company others using AI tools and workflows

What you’ll focus on

Focus area 1: Clinical Operations

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • reputed company the UK & EU Clinical Operations team, ensuring that trials are delivered successfully (i.reputed company time, on budget, in compliance, and of high quality)

  • Create and maintain reputed company working practices, SOPs, systems and tools, to ensure robust Study Management execution and stakeholder communications

  • Work with Clinical Operations leadership to solve issues that arise proactively and creatively

Reporting and Communication

  • Directs the activities of assigned Project Support staff and mentors other project management team members and clinical staff; facilitates team building and communication

  • Implements resource strategies to reputed company project goals

  • Develops contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery of project goals

Hiring and Training

Focus area 2: Organisational leadership

UK & EU Clinical Operations & cross functional work

  • Ensure seamless integration of our US Clinical Operations team, working closely with other ClinOps leaders across both countries

  • Support business development work with Sponsors and vendors where necessary

  • Pivotal role in the seamless handover/set-up of projects from Business Development to ClinOps

Reshaping clinical trials using technology

  • Work closely with the tech and product teams to help design best-in-class trial technology that exceeds customer demands (e.g., reputed company, e-Consent, eTMF)

  • Design, test and implement AI driven workflows that reduce effort and improve quality of clinical operations tasks
