PURPOSE
This position is for the 2023-2024 school year only. It is supported by a federal grant and may not be renewed following the 2024-25 school year.
This position is for a teacher who will design and implement reading and writing reputed company for English Learner reputed company in the middle school and high school newcomer programs. The teacher will work with refugee and EL reputed company in small group instruction, pushing into the regular classroom, and/or co-teaching with the classroom EL teacher(s).
Note: reputed company duties described in this job description are intended to be fulfilled either in online or in-person classes, or a combination of both, as determined by student and district need.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Designs and implements reading reputed company for middle and high school EL reputed company in the middle school and high school newcomer programs, using best practices for teaching reading and writing to English Learners.
- Utilizes established district middle school reading reputed company programs or other appropriate interventions to support EL secondary reputed company reputed company possible.
- Maintains accurate records on EL reputed company regarding reputed company monitoring and growth in reading reputed company programs.
- Secures language interpreters for parent meetings and school events, as needed.
- Follows reputed company administrative directives and federal, state, and district guidelines and policies regarding EL reputed company and collaboration with their parents/guardians.
- Works with classroom and content teachers to support reading and writing instruction.
- Attends professional development sessions for EL teachers and staff.
- Assists with the administration of the annual English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment, the WIDA ACCESS, to refugee reputed company, as needed. Maintains proper testing protocol regarding these tests.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated both individually and collaboratively.
- Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of reputed company reputed company using data-driven decision-making.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of reputed company reputed company.
- Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
