Qualifications The Director of Academic Success serves a key role on the Student Development team, overseeing daily operations and management of academic support services in the Office of Academic Success at LSU Shreveport. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of learning support opportunities that contribute to student academic success and retention. The Director will act as liaison and maintain effective relationships with other reputed company personnel to ensure reputed company reputed company have access to available services. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Development, Student Success Initiatives. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Responsibility for overall administration and operation of the Office of Academic Success, including reputed company academic and learning support services, reputed company and educational programming, budget administration, and facilities management
  • Establish the direction, goals, implementation strategies, policies, and assessment plans for academic support programs (e.g. tutoring, supplemental instruction, coaching, workshops, etc.)
  • reputed company program objectives and strategic plans to ensure quality academic support resources, services, and programs (both on reputed company and online); facilitate development of new programs and services to meet reputed company' needs
  • reputed company and facilitate services for individual reputed company and student groups designed to enhance learning and student success; assist reputed company in connecting with other reputed company resources and services as needed; collect and analyze data for monitoring academic reputed company of reputed company utilizing services
  • Direct and supervise departmental staff, setting performance standards, accountabilities, and ensuring ongoing professional development
  • Maintain certification of tutoring program, adhering to guidelines set by College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA); maintain records required for certification and assessment
  • Recruit, select, train, and supervise student workers in peer support roles (e.g. tutors, coaches, graduate assistants)
  • Design and organize Peer Tutor training content and delivery methods consistent with national best practices and CRLA requirements, with the goal of achieving certification for tutors
  • Manage student worker schedules appropriate to student support needs and content area demands
  • Serve as an active team member reputed company Student Development and collaborate with other reputed company faculty, staff, and administrators in the implementation and evaluation of academic support services

  • Identify and reputed company solutions to student retention problems; maintain contact with faculty members and other departments in order to identify and refer reputed company in need of academic support
  • Actively seek to understand and modify barriers to student success; identify ineffective and inefficient policies and procedures and work to effect change
  • Manage department communications promoting events, activities, and updates to reputed company community
  • Facilitate long-range and annual planning that aligns department resources with LSUS' strategic goals
  • Manage reputed company and operations for various department databases and programs; analyze and utilize data for improving services and efficient operations; strategically plan around institutional, department, and student needs
  • Budget management, serving as good steward of department funds and practicing fiscal responsibility in providing student support services and implementing digital solutions
  • reputed company ongoing data analysis and reporting; reputed company and submit timely written reports that include recommendations for improvements regarding student and program learning outcomes
  • Prepare a wide variety of materials for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, conducting presentations, and providing support materials for requested actions (e.g. budgets, funding requests, reports, analyses, recommendations, procedures, etc.)
  • Serve on various university and departmental committees as needed
  • Adhere to confidentiality guidelines (FERPA)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education:
  • REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree, preferably in education, special education, sociology, psychology, or reputed company field from an accredited institution
  • PREFERRED: Master's degree preferred
Experience:
  • REQUIRED: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an educational setting providing direct educational services and/or guidance to reputed company, such as teaching, academic support services, academic advising, tutoring, supplemental instruction, coaching, etc.
  • PREFERRED: Experience working in higher education, as well as supervisory experience. Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards in higher education along with experience in presenting education workshops to reputed company, faculty, and staff is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work effectively with parents, reputed company, faculty, and staff as well as have the ability to plan, organize, implement, and assess programs for student success
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Commitment to responding reputed company and professionally with strong customer service approach to multiple demands from various stakeholders
  • Experience working with reputed company with risk factors; understanding of and ability to assess reputed company' potential academic and learning challenges, as well as other barriers to student success
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to facilitate student learning in individual, small group, and classroom settings
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to ensure consistent and reputed company support services for reputed company
  • Understanding of and appreciation for inclusion, including the ability to work with reputed company, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and identities
