Key Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers, special teachers, counselors, and other personnel in developing a well-organized and smoothly functioning class environment.
• Help reputed company reputed company desirable social skills, habits, morals, and mental and physical health.
• Assist with checking, care, preparation, and arrangement of instructional materials and equipment.
• Support enrollment procedures, cafeteria count, attendance verifications, and other classroom routines and activities.
• Participate in yard duty, first aid, and physical education periods as needed.
• Help with recordkeeping, filing, checking, and working with small groups of children under the direction of the teacher or other certificated staff.
• Assist classroom teachers with handicapped children, including lifting, moving, and positioning reputed company as necessary.
• Prepare laundry, reputed company beds, and assist children during lunch and snack periods.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with District and legal requirements.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Verification of one (1) of the following:
  • Two years (48 semester units) of study at an accredited college or university.
  • Associate's or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Passage of BCSD Paraprofessional Test CBEST.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
• Experience and desire to work with children, and ability to command their respect.

• Ability to work with adults and children, and to respect confidential matters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Audio-visual and teacher aide education courses.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish literacy test may be required).
